It gets its name from its extraordinary ability to remove extreme heat from any object in which it comes in contact. It works to remove heat and the hydrocarbon fuel source from the fire triangle. The suppressants in it use water as a catalyst to remove the heat as well as encapsulate and break down the hydrocarbons in the fuel source to extinguish the fire more rapidly.
